We’re currently seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Bedford, IA.

This position is ideal for an experienced APP who thrives in a rural, independent setting and enjoys full-spectrum primary care.
 

Position Highlights:

• Schedule: 4 days per week (16 days/month)

• Setting: Rural Health Clinic

• EMR: Epic

• Support Staff: 1 RN, receptionist, and EMS support when available

• Credentialing: 1–2 weeks (depends on payer)

Coverage Reason: Replacement for departing APP
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive, preventative, and therapeutic care to patients and families

• Perform assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and prescribe medications

• Offer patient education and counseling

• Comfortable working autonomously in a rural setting

DOT certification preferred (not required)

Candidate Requirements:

• License: Active Iowa license required (IMLC not accepted)

• Board Certification: Preferred

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, DEA

• Experience: Prior experience in rural health or outpatient family medicine preferred

• Malpractice: Clean preferred

Must be available for credentialing at time of name clear

Travel Info:

• Preferred lodging provided (Corning Hotel)

• Local drive-in candidates preferred (no flights arranged)
